Enterprise Ventures boosts Liverpool office with appointment
North West based Enterprise Ventures, which provides venture capital and loans for small businesses, has appointed Steve Fishburn as Investment Director.
Steve, who has 35 years’ experience in banking, joins from the Co-operative Bank. He will be based at Enterprise Ventures’ Liverpool office where he will be liaising with companies seeking investment.
During his career, Steve has worked for HSBC and the Co-operative Bank across a wide range of disciplines including invoice finance, international trade finance, credit, distressed credit and, most recently, corporate banking which included working on transactions such as MBOs, MBIs, BIMBOs, and refinancings.
He said: “As banks have tightened up their lending criteria, small firms have found it increasingly difficult to access finance. I’m looking forward to being able to make a difference by helping companies secure the investment they need to support their growth.”
Jonathan Diggines, Chief Executive of Enterprise Ventures, added: “Regional venture capital and loan funds are now playing a major role in supporting small business growth. Steve has a wealth of experience. His appointment is in line with our plans to build the team in Merseyside, where a significant part of our investment activity is now focused.”
