Ramage secure investment for expansion

North Tyneside haulage firm, Ramage Transport, has secured funding to invest in a new fleet and expand its operations.

The funding comes from Barclays and with the resulting expansion, Ramage hopes to hit £10m turnover this year.

Robin Ramage, operations director of Ramage Transport Ltd said: “Barclays funding underpins our growth plans and we’ve been able to add a further ten new tractor units together with an additional seven trailers.

“The fire at our premises last year was a tough time for the business and our storage premises are still being re-built – but it’s great that we can focus on the future with this new investment which will see the fleet operate more efficiently and with the capability to meet increased customer demand.”

Ramage Transport Ltd was established in Newcastle over 35 years ago and with a fleet of more than 80 vehicles and 100 trailers, employs 130 people.

Peter Kirkpatrick, Barclays relationship director added: “This new funding has been provided through the Government-backed ‘Funding for Lending Scheme’ and will allow Robin and his team to take advantage of the opportunities arising from the increased business they’ve been experiencing. This deal serves as a clear indication that Barclays is open for business for quality transactions in well managed companies.”
