Students set to Storm Cleveland Centre
For the first time ever, Middlesbrough’s largest shopping centre, the Cleveland Centre is set to host a student shopping extravaganza. Students from the town and surrounding area are set to head to Middlesbrough in their thousands to take advantage of substantial retailer discounts.
The event takes place on Thursday 17th October from 6pm until 8pm and along with special shopping prices for students, there are competitions to win ipod minis, tickets for Jimmy Carr, Cleveland Centre gift cards and is set to be a fun night which seas Radio Capital FM on air fro the venue. Along with some shops offering goody bags, competition prizes and excellent discounts, there are DJ’s, off-the-wall entertainment. Students are invited to take our pinball challenge in HMV for the chance to win tickets to the Halloween ball at the new Middlesbrough Live Academy.
Centre manager Debbie Anderson said “We’re really excited about the event and can’t wait to open the doors for the thousands of students that are expected to visit. Already many students have pre-registered for the event to save time queuing and the expected numbers of students are expected to be a few thousand.
“Middlesbrough is a vibrant town with a large student population from leading colleges and Teesside University. It is the first time we have undertaken an event for students and we felt it would be a great time for students to take advantage of the discounts on offer for the evening and to come along and have some fun and soak up the atmosphere.”
To pre-register for the event go to www.studentshopping uk.com and fill in the Middlesbrough form. Wristbands can be sent to home addresses for a small fee or collected at the Check-in Desk in the centre. Students can also turn up on the night with their student identity card or confirmation letter from college to gain entry.
Family and friends are welcome to the event but only students will be able to claim the discounts. Updates on offers and events will be posted on Facebook and Twitter @ClevelandCentre.
