2013 Investec Ashes series gives Corprotex boost
A Manchester based corporate clothing provider has fulfilled a contract to supply uniforms to Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC), won after the Club received the news it was to host the Third Investec Ashes Test match at Emirates Old Trafford.
Corprotex Apparel, of Ardwick, were awarded the contract in December 2012 to provide uniforms to all 200 staff working at the Club including reception, housekeeping, maintenance, event and management teams.
Having invested millions in developing the Emirates Old Trafford ground and facilities, including turning the wicket to face north to south, LCCC wanted everything to be perfect for its return to the Ashes, including the image of its staff.
Corprotex was briefed to design a sharp and professional look for LCCC’s employees that would make them instantly recognisable while reflecting the prestigious brand, with delivery to take place before the start of the Ashes on 1 August 2013.
Sophisticated and sharply styled, the collection comprises items such as skirts, trousers and dresses in charcoal grey polyester, wool and Lycra fabric.
Bespoke ties and scarves were designed in the corporate colours to add the finishing touches to the high performing yet lightweight uniforms.
Managing director at Corprotex Apparel, Paul Smith said: “This was a very exciting project to work on given all the hype in Manchester surrounding the Ashes and the fact the world would be watching.
“We worked to tight deadlines, but we planned well and were able to deliver on time to 200 members of staff. It was a real pleasure to partner this local but internationally recognised Club and the team here was very proud to be part of this huge sporting event.”
Daniel Gidney said: “Corprotex has supplied the Club for around 12 years and provides a professional service as well-designed uniforms constructed in high quality materials.
“Corprotex worked hard to help us achieve our goals and our staff are delighted with the new look.”
