Keepmoat makes a splash with swimming lessons for Two Rivers residents
Regeneration-specialist Keepmoat made sure the summer holidays went swimmingly for residents of Two Rivers Housing in Gloucester by funding swim sessions for 60 people.
Keepmoat sponsored the Two Rivers initiative to send the residents to sessions at Lydney, Cinderford, Coleford and Newent leisure centres to ensure that children and adults enjoyed an active summer holiday.
The sessions were paid for as part of Keepmoat’s community outreach work as the firm carries out external refurbishment of Two Rivers homes throughout the Forest of Dean, repairing and replacing roofs, guttering, fascias and parking areas. The funding paid for 60 child, adult or family swim sessions at the leisure centres.
Due to the success of the project Keepmoat is looking at running the scheme again next year and extending it in to other school holidays.
Neil Baxter, Regional Director at Keepmoat said: “We were delighted to fund these swim sessions and hope those who took part are going back to school or work feeling fitter and healthier than they were at the start of the summer.”
Emma Towler, Community Involvement Co-ordinator for Two Rivers Housing said: “We wanted to encourage our tenants’ children to keep active on their summer break and the perfect summer weather this year meant that the swimming passes were particularly popular. Our thanks go to Keepmoat for helping us to help our tenants’ families to have fun during the holidays.”
