New websites for Downtown in Business
Business networking club, Downtown in Business, has launched a new website, with sub-sites for each region – Liverpool, Lancashire, Leeds and Manchester.
Manchester agency 3 Door Digital designed and built the new site.
DiB celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2014, and has been “seeking ways to evolve” its offer to members.
The new main site offers increased functionality, making it easier for its 500 member firms to communicate online. It also features Downtown Invaders - a video game based on the classic Space Invaders.
DiB is also launching a new stand-alone website for quarterly publication DQ Magazine, featuring content and opinion columns from leading Downtown members.
And CEO Frank McKenna’s business blog has also been revamped, along with the “Thank Frank It’s Friday (TFI)” email newsletter.
The club has also recruited Mark Asquith as Head of Marketing & Communications, and Lucy Cort as Head of Sales.
DiB says the changes are “designed to make sure Downtown remains on the cutting edge of commercial leadership and networking going forward for the next 10 years”.
Mr McKenna said: “It is easy to say ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, but in reality if you stand still for too long the world passes you by.
“Downtown is always looking at how it can be a driving force for members to stay ahead of economic developments and to work together to enjoy prosperity and growth.
“As we prepare to celebrate 10 successful years, now is the right time to look again at our digital portfolio and freshen it up to improve our offering.”
DiB has become one of the most influential business organisations in the North West, organising networking events, hosting high profile gala dinners, attracting prominent speakers and boasting an extensive roster of members.
