Hat-trick of new signings for Aspire

An ambitious technology company has appointed three new specialists to help accelerate its expansion.

The technical support team at award-winning Aspire has been swelled by the arrival of Andy Renton, 28, Scott Robertson, 34, and Colin Myers, 43. All three have joined from Gosforth-based technology company TSG.

Chris Fraser, Technical Director of Aspire, said he was delighted to sign-up the new recruits: “It gives us extra capacity to help us serve new customers, so we’re delighted to take on such experienced and talented technicians – all of whom have at least a decade of experience. We’re a young, ambitious company, but we’ll only achieve our goals with the right people with the right skills – and Colin, Andy and Scott certainly fit the bill.

Colin, from Crawcrook, grew up in Blackpool but moved to the North East when he attended what was Newcastle Polytechnic where he completed an HND in computer studies.

He worked for a time writing software for the freight industry before joining Croft Technology, a national IT services firm, where he worked for 17 years before the company was bought out by TSG in 2010. He left TSG as Enterprise Solutions Team Leader and joined Aspire as a Senior Technical Consultant.

“I’m really enjoying the relaxed atmosphere here, it’s a really sociable company which is really serious about customer service. It also feels like a company that is going places – we have ambitious growth plans and from what I’ve seen so far there is no reason why they won’t be realised,” said Colin.

Andy, from Cramlington, has also been impressed by the warm welcome he has received at Aspire: “Everyone has been so friendly and supportive, but it’s a really focused company too. Things get done, solutions found, problems solved, very quickly.”

Andy, married to Emma, attended Cramlington High School before starting work at Croft, and then TSG, where he was a telephony engineer. His new role at Aspire is a technical consultant.

Scott, originally from Durham and now living in Wallsend, has also been struck by the ambitions of Aspire: “It feels like a family firm, has an open-door policy, but is very ambitious and is very keen to bring in the right people,” he said.

Technical consultant Scott enjoys golf and cycling, but won’t be joining his new colleagues on their Coast-to-Coast charity ride in aid of Tiny Lives in a couple of weeks time.

He left Deerness Valley Comprehensive School to work at an IT-related company before joining Croft and then TSG.

Aspire Technology Solutions is an award-winning managed services company specialising in hosted services, data centre solutions, communications and traditional IT outsourcing. Established in 2006, Aspire has increased its turnover by 195 per cent in the last three years to £3.8m, and is on track to achieve its target of turnover of £11m in the next two years.
