Petards secure £1.75m train CCTV contract with Bombardier
North East-based manufacturer of surveillance and security equipment Petards has secured a major £1.75m contract with train builder Bombardier to supply CCTV systems for carriages.
Petards’ eyeTrain saloon and Driver Only Operation (DOO) systems will be fitted to the 116 new Bombardier being produced for Southern Railway for use on the Thameslink route.
Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract and look forward to working with Bombardier to deliver a world class solution on this important project which we anticipate will make a significant contribution to our revenues in 2014.
“While we work closely with Bombardier on many projects it is pleasing that we are again supplying equipment onto one of their prestigious new build train programmes.”
