Yorkshire publishing entrepreneurs work with Emmy Award-winner

Two Yorkshire publishing entrepreneurs have landed a significant contract to publish Californian documentary filmmaker Dave Banks’ latest book.

Gail Powell and Diane Hall, two mums from Yorkshire, are working with the three-time Emmy award winning filmmaker and photojournalist.

The pair, who run Solopreneur Publishing, were chosen above stateside writing coaches and publishers because they struck a chord with Dave.

“Cue the Camels” is a comedic memoir of Dave’s career, from filming in the middle of landmine fields to shooting on The Tonight Show.

Jay Leno has written the foreward for the book and Dave is expected to draw on his friend’s David Byrne, of Talking Heads and Mike Hufnail, the producer of ’My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding, to help promote it.

Gail said: “It’s been a real coup to secure Californian based Dave Banks’ debut novel here at Yorkshire based Solopreneur Publishing. It’s proof that expertise travels.

“Working with Dave has been a real honour, he is a true professional and ‘Cue the Camels’ is set to be a best-seller.”

The Solopreneur is a book coaching and publishing firm was set up by Gail, a former radio producer and Diane, a published children’s author.

Along with Dave’s book, the pair have commissioned twelve titles over the next six months - from business books to fiction titles.
