Dart Group continue package holidays growth
Leeds Bradford Airport-based Dart Group, the holding company behind Jet2.com says it has continued to grow its package holidays business by 103% in the first half of 2013.
The Group, steered by chief executive Philip Meeson, it took 634,866 passengers on holiday during the first six months of the year, a growth of 103% on the year before.
Performance of the airline business, Jet2.com, was described as “statisfactory.” 4.1m passengers in the six months to 30 September 2013, an increase of 13% over the same period last year.
Trading in the sector was made difficult by fine summer weather at home in the UK.
Elsewhere, profitability of the Group’s distribution and logistics business, Fowler Welch, was impacted by inconsitent volumes throughout the summer.
