Entrepreneur hoping for sweet taste of success before clocks go back

A business entrepreneur is hoping for the sweet taste of success before the clocks go back this weekend.

Lisa Fleming is the regional director for the national company Watercooler World, with her partner Wayne Fleming heading up a North-East franchise they bought a year ago.

The company now looks after more than 50 businesses in the North East, from Northallerton to Newcastle, supplying water and hot drinks through bottles and machines.

Lisa has plans to employ two new staff in the coming months as more and more companies start to install their new range of state-of-the-art drinks machines.

And Watercooler World are hosting a ‘Clock Change Coffee Morning’ this Friday (October 25), a spin-off of Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Lisa says the charity is close to her heart after losing two family members to cancer in recent years.

“It’s an evil disease and we just want to do what we can to raise awareness of the charity and hopefully some cash,” says Lisa, who’s also the managing director of Driver Hire Darlington based at The HUB Workspace on Aycliffe Business Park.

“So we’ve organised what’s been called a Clock Change Coffee Morning, when we’ll have a free buffet, some branded cakes and, of course, plenty of coffee on the go!

“It will also be a good chance for people to see some of our latest coffee-making machines, which are really state-of-the-art, and also a useful networking opportunity.”

Businesses are invited to attend Watercooler World’s free coffee morning from 11am to 2pm this Friday (October 25) in the ground floor seminar room of Carlton House, The HUB, Aycliffe Business Park, DL5 6ZE.

Those who can’t attend can still donate £5 to Macmillan by texting COFFEE to 70550 (texts cost £5 plus network charge, Macmillan will receive 95p of every £1 donated in this way. Always obtain bill payers permission first).
