Hyde seek out Keepmoat for housing contracts worth around £80m

Doncaster-based housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat has continued its expansion into the south by winning two large refurbishment and maintenance contracts with The Hyde Group, one of the largest housing associations in England.

Hyde, which manages more than 49,000 homes in England, has awarded Keepmoat two contracts – worth £82m combined. The wins come a year after Doncaster-headquartered Keepmoat merged with Essex-based Apollo to create a £1bn housing provider with a reach across the whole of Britain.

Hyde has awarded Keepmoat a three and a half year contract to deliver internal refurbishment works across London and the East Midlands in a deal expected to be worth around £31m.

Hyde also chose Keepmoat for a £51m contract to look after responsive maintenance and out of hours emergency repairs for 12,500 homes in the South East. The 10-year contract, which begins in October, was won following a competitive tender and will also see Keepmoat deliver void property works in the region.

Keepmoat’s property services division has successfully grown at a steady pace over recent years by establishing regional teams across the UK to deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services for housing providers.

Mike Edwards, Managing Director at Keepmoat Property Services, said: “Winning a £51m contract to maintain Hyde’s homes in the South East is a huge endorsement of the high-quality work and reliable service we deliver for clients, time and time again.

“Since the merger Keepmoat has built on Apollo’s great relationships across the south enabling us to become a truly national player in the responsive maintenance market.

“Through this new contract, we have created employment opportunities and so far recruited 28 people from local communities.”

Adam Stevens, Regeneration Director, said: “We are really excited about the £31m contract win and look forward to bringing an efficient, professional refurbishment service to thousands of residents in London and the East Midlands.”

“When completed these works will make a huge difference to the well-being of Hyde residents.”

Carol Carter, Hyde’s Group Director of Housing, said: “At Hyde, our business is driven by our residents’ priorities. We look forward to working with new contractors to deliver services that reflect this.

“Importantly, the improved efficiencies and cost savings will enable us to provide new and better services to our residents as well as invest in building much needed new homes.”
