Law firm advises KME Yorkshire on £18m business sale
The Leeds office of international law firm Pinsent Masons has advised KME Yorkshire Limited, which was founded in Leeds in 1889, on the £18m sale of its copper plumbing tubes business to Mueller Europe Limited, a subsidiary of Mueller Industries Inc (USA).
Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.
Located in Kirkby (Liverpool), the plumbing tubes business of KME Yorkshire Ltd (part of INTEK Group S.p.A.) recorded a turnover of £119m in 2012 and currently employs approximately 175 employees.
The Pinsent Masons team, led by corporate partner Andrew Kerr, assisted by senior associates Michael Walby and Alan Chan and solicitor Tom Ralph.
Andrew Kerr commented: “We were pleased to work with KME Yorkshire on the sale of the plumbing tubes business, which once completed will enable it to focus its resources on products with higher added value and in growing markets.”
