Jewellery Retailer announces expansion for Liverpool store
Jewellery retailer Mococo, is expanding its Liverpool store located in Metquarter, more than quadrupling the unit’s current floor space of 352sq/ft to take a space of 1,585sq/ft.
The expansion will allow the retailer to stock additional brands, as Mococo sees sales across its five stores trading 40% up on last year with like for like sales showing a 28% increase for the retailer.
Maureen Hooson, founder and brand director at Mococo, said: “Liverpool is the home of style, and the expansion of the Metquarter store is testimony to that. The store opened in May 2009 and has proven to be a huge hit with the City’s fashion conscious shopper. As a retailer, we are always looking to bring new and exciting jewellery collections to our customers, and this expansion allows us to do just that.
“The new and expanded store will stock even more brands than ever before from the likes of Chlobo, Shaun Leane and Thomas Sabo, along with brand favourites like Pandora and Swarovski, and new additions such as Diamonfire and Nomination.”
Mococo already has five stores across the North West and North Wales - Chester, Liverpool, Mold, Ruthin and Wrexham, with ambitious plans to expand across the region forecast over the next 18 months. Mococo has cornered a market for “affordable luxury” in the jewellery market, securing unique, design-led brands and more exclusive ranges.
Lee Hooson, managing director at Mococo, added: “We have exciting plans to extend our ranges in Liverpool, as a way of thanking our loyal customers for their continued support. Our customers are at the heart of our development plans. The more informed shopper deserves more from a retail experience and we are investing in our emporium and our people to ensure they receive just that.”
Jennina O’Neill, Metquarter centre manager, added: “Mococo has proven to be a real success story for Metquarter and we are delighted that they have extended their offer with us.”
Founded in 2006 by Maureen and Lee Hooson, Mococo has continued to expand since its humble beginnings of a £250 start up investment on the kitchen table, and was recently highlighted as a ‘Retail Star’ in the Professional Jeweller HOT 100.
