Advanced Business Solutions awarded place on G-Cloud 4

Advanced Business Solutions awarded place on G-Cloud 4 Advanced to offer eleven solutions via the latest government cloud framework 11 November 2013 – Leading business applications and services provider, Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), has been awarded a place on G-Cloud 4, the Government’s latest cloud procurement framework. Eleven of Advanced’s solutions are available on the online Cloudstore. G-Cloud 4 is the fourth version of the UK Government framework, and is designed to promote the adoption of cloud computing in the public sector. The framework includes CloudStore, an online catalogue which displays cloud services and gives public sector organisations the option to choose services which best fit their needs. This makes the procurement process faster, more cost-effective and more transparent. The latest G-Cloud framework follows the Government’s launch of Cloud First, a mandate which makes it compulsory for all central government ICT procurement departments to consider and fully evaluate cloud solutions before looking at ‘on-premise’ options. Dean Dickinson, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions (Public Sector and Enterprise division) says: “As a result of G-Cloud and Cloud First, we are speaking to an ever-increasing number of government and public sector buyers about the benefits and savings that can be achieved by migrating to the cloud.” “We are very pleased that eleven of our cloud solutions have been approved and included on the G-Cloud 4 framework and anticipate significant demand over the coming months as interest in this transformative area of technology continues to grow.” G-Cloud 4 has been designed to be more accessible and open than its predecessors, enabling more government and public buyers to find suppliers who can fulfil their needs. Francis Maude, Cabinet Office Minster comments:” “Our reforms to government technology are designed to ensure the best possible service for users at the lowest cost for taxpayers. G-Cloud is a simpler, faster and cheaper way for the public sector to buy digital services. It allows companies of all sizes to benefit from our digital by default approach to government.” “We will continue to embed our cloud first principle in government and recommend it across the wider public sector,” concludes Maude. Advanced has received approval for eleven cloud services it provides. These include: ERP on demand, eProcurement, planning, budgeting and forecasting, Infrastructure as a Service, care industry management software, eRecruitment and eRecruitment for the NHS, facilities management, specialist cloud services and business intelligence services. The G-Cloud 4 services can be found by searching for ‘Advanced Business Solutions’ on the Government CloudStore. (http://gcloud.civilservice.gov.uk/cloudstore/) -ENDS- Notes to Editor
