Rubb supply training facility for Sunderland AFC
A firm of Team Valley-based specialists in fabric building structures have supplied Sunderland AFC with a new training facility.
Rubb Building Ltd were tasked with developing an indoor training ground for the football club to use in nurturing its future stars.
Sunderland AFC began using the ‘Academy of Light’ late last year after Rubb finished work in partnership with Tolent Construction Ltd and architects Red Box Design Group.
The 5,356 sq m construction is Rubb’s largest building span width to date and features a translucent roof to allow natural daylight to illuminate the interior.
Rubb General manager Ian Hindmoor said: “We are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious project in the north east of England. This is our largest span building to date and our third training facility for a premier league football club. We are looking forward to seeing our clients use and enjoy their new venue.”
