Miller appointed to Ministry of Defence's £400 million framework
Scottish construction group Miller, who operate a North East division out of Washington, have been appointed to the MoD’s £400 million National Capital Works Framework.
The firm, who have worked on Newcastle city centre’s Stephenson Quarter development, will now compete for design and build projects valued up to £400 million across the MoD’s estate.
Miller chief executive Chris Webster said he was delighted to have secured the position. Miller joins Balfour Beatty, Carillion Construction, Kier Graham Defence and Wates Construction on the framework.
The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is responsible for managing and maintaining land and properties to meet the current and future needs of the MOD.
The division’s Next Generation Estate Contracts (NGEC) is developing a range of contracts for the UK Defence Estate, including six regional projects.
Matt Foley, the head of NGEC at the DOI, said: “I am pleased to welcome the successful contractors to the National Framework. The team is confident that the companies selected will meet the high standards required by the defence estate.
“Each of the bidders faced a rigorous evaluation process and clearly demonstrated that they are capable of delivering a complex and diverse number of high value construction projects, which are fit for the defence frontline.”
