Turley Associates’ Jennifer Winyard elected Vice Chair of Yorkshire RTPI

Jennifer Winyard, a senior planner in the Leeds office of planning consultancy Turley Associates, has been elected Vice Chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) Yorkshire Regional Management Board.

She was elected on the 1 December 2013 and will hold the position for 12 months.

The RTPI is celebrating its centenary throughout 2014 and has a full programme of events and activities in Yorkshire throughout the year including a series of lectures that look at planning and its impact across the region in each of the past 10 decades.

Jennifer’s election follows a successful year as Chair of the RTPI’s Young Planners’ steering committee, which culminated in the annual Young Planners’ Conference in October, attended by over 200 delegates and held in Leeds for the very first time.

At the same time, senior urban designer Neil Woodhouse and planner Matthew Turnbull also at Turley Associates in Leeds have been elected to the Yorkshire RTPI Regional Activities Committee and will help with the centenary celebrations.

Jennifer Winyard said: “I am honoured to have been elected to this role this year – with the centenary celebrations it promises to be a very busy and memorable year. In addition to supporting the Chair, Simon Smales, I intend on encouraging more young planners to get involved with the RTPI locally – it is something I feel really passionate about.”

Bob May, Director in the Leeds office of Turley Associates, said: “Jennifer is a talented young planner who provides invaluable support and advice to our developer clients.

“She is also extremely committed and works hard in supporting young planners and her colleagues across the profession in Yorkshire. Our congratulations go to Jennifer and we look forward to the contribution she will make as Vice Chair.”
