Actors use Kickstarter to fund Anneka Rice inspired project
A pair of North East actors are using crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to make a short film in just 28 days.
Gemma Nichols of Gosforth and Philip Mathews of Gateshead aim to make a film that highlights the art of storytelling, to coincide with National Storytelling Week.
The pair are due to start filming on February 1 and, while looking for funds, are also appealing to anyone with a life experience that bears significance to February 28 - the film’s premiere in London.
The idea is inspired by the 1980’s TV programme Challenge Anneka with Anneka rice and will be filmed fly-on-the-wall style.
Gemma said: “We’re hoping to receive some really interesting stories and even though only one will be picked, it will be exciting reading them all.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates and students who would like to get their foot in the door and demonstrate their abilities.”
Gemma and Phil’s kickstarter page can be found here and anyone interested in getting involved with the project should contact Phil or Gemma on 020 3371 0995 or email info@28dayproject.co.uk.
