Recruitment drive as confidence in housing market grows
RECRUITMENT DRIVE AS CONFIDENCE IN HOUSING MARKET GROWS
A major recruitment drive has been launched by a leading regional housebuilder as they lay the foundations for a strong 2014.
Greater levels of mortgage lending, growing consumer confidence and the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme have all contributed to a rise in sales in the housing market on a national scale.
Persimmon Homes has just reported a 21% jump in full-year revenues and now its North East region is looking ahead to the next 12 months with a positive outlook based on its achievements.
They are currently building across 23 sites in the region, with more developments in the pipeline while work is due to start soon on a new site in Bedlington; the only new homes currently being built in the area.
In order to keep up with demand, Persimmon Homes North East has now launched a recruitment drive with very specific roles that need filling.
John Eynon, managing director of Persimmon Homes North East, said: “Due to the improving housing market and the start of a number of new developments, we are looking to appoint experienced personnel.
“We need quantity surveyors, an accounts clerk, sub-contractor payments clerk, trainee sales administrator, site managers, bricklayers, joiners and groundworkers.
“Nationally there is a shortage of construction workers, but we have a great team here and are looking for talented people to join us. The successful applicants will be experienced in their respective professions and ideally have a construction industry background.
“The positions offer excellent career opportunities, as well as attractive remuneration packages and other benefits.”
Persimmon Homes North East has already seen their existing developments prove popular especially at Newcastle Great Park, which is quickly becoming one of the most desirable places to live in the region.
The developer is also building throughout Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Gateshead and Sunderland.
Mr Eynon added: “There are some very exciting months ahead for us in this region. We have always believed in investing in skills and we know the north east is full of people that pride themselves on doing an excellent job and we want to hear from them.”
Applicants are invited to apply enclosing a full CV to Jacqueline Fennon, Persimmon Homes North East, 2 Esh Plaza, Sir Bobby Robson Way, Great Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 9BA, or email Jacqueline.fennon@persimmonhomes.com
