We hear that around 2,500 HMRC senior tax officials are set to go on strike this Friday over a dispute over new employee appraisals.
It won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that the strike action coincides with Valentine’s Day, which begs the question – what will happen to all those undelivered bouquets of roses delivered to the taxman?
At this rate, HMRC’s post room could end up looking like Kew Gardens on Friday….
