North East accountants note appetite among manufacturers for funding
A firm of County Durham-based accountants have noted an upsurge in manufacturing firms looking for grant funding and R&D tax credits.
Clive Owen & Co LLP say levels of interest are high across all sectors and suggest it reflects the positive movement of the regional economy.
The firm have highlighted the findings of international accountancy network Kreston International’s latest report, which shows growth in the industry of 7%.
Tony Luckett, a Clive Owen & Co partner, said: “We’ve seen an upsurge in the levels of interest across all our sectors but particularly in manufacturing, helping the region’s businesses secure grant funding for growth together with research and development tax credits.
“As well as being part of a global network which is growing, we believe our own growth acts an indicator of the positive economic movement in the North East at present, whether that’s in manufacturing or in education, another of our specialist fields.”
