Special retirement presentation for conveyancer after almost five decades
Valued senior paralegal Paula Pemberton has retired from the residential conveyancing team at hlw Keeble Hawson’s Doncaster office after a career spanning 48 years.
Mrs Pemberton, 65, worked for the practice which was known as Frank Allen & Co, and subsequently Frank Allen Pennington, after leaving school at 16. Starting as an office junior at the firm’s then offices at Midland Bank Chambers in High Street, she progressed to be a partner’s secretary before passing her professional exams and becoming a paralegal specialising in residential conveyancing.
Partner Paul Pennington, who has worked with Mrs Pemberton for the last 22 years, said she was a highly respected colleague and friend known for her efficient legal skills.
“I have known Paula for a long time and seen her career progression. She has been a key member of our residential conveyancing team and a very loyal and popular member of staff. Her presence and contribution will be missed by the firm and clients alike,” he said.
To mark her retirement, Mr Pennington presented Mrs Pemberton with a special gift at a ceremony attended by a number of her colleagues.
Mrs Pemberton, who plans to spend her time pursuing her hobbies, catching up with friends and travelling, said: “I have mixed feelings about leaving as I have enjoyed working here but the time has come for me to do other things. I have felt very much part of the team.”
