Wallsend industrial painters create 20 jobs with latest contract
Wallsend-based industrial coatings specialists Barrier Group have created 20 jobs after winning a contract from Tyneside neighbours OGN Group.
The project centres around the floating production, storage and offloading vessel, EnQuest Producer, which is currently docked at OGN’s Hadrian Yard.
Barrier will provide coating works and the erection of around 1,500 tonnes of scaffolding, as well as insulation and architectural services.
Robert Bowles, managing director of Barrier, said: “Securing this project is proof positive of the wider benefits to the North East supply chain when a company such as OGN wins a significant and prestigious contract. This region has an excellent supply chain, which we are proud to be part of, which OGN can rely on to deliver high quality products and services.
“The impact of bringing the EnQuest Producer to the region is tremendous, particularly in terms of enabling the supply chain to create new employment opportunities and I am proud that it has allowed Barrier to increase the size of our workforce.”
Barrier employs 250 people at its Willington Quay base and on client sites across the UK and internationally.
