Planning permission secured for 600 new homes in West Yorkshire

Planning consultancy Turley has secured a significant planning permission that enable Gleeson Homes to build 176 new homes in Knottingley, Yorkshire.

Turley has also secured outline planning permission from Wakefield Council for a further 450 homes, commercial space and supporting infrastructure, including a school, on the same site.

Gleeson Homes specialises in building high quality homes and selling them at prices local people can afford. This permission will see Gleeson build a mix of two, three and four bed homes.

Turley provided Gleeson with planning, environmental impact and sustainability support.

Steve Gamble, Group Land & Planning Director, Gleeson Homes said: “We are delighted with this decision and with the support and guidance from Turley. It is also a good decision for those people living and working in and around Knottingley looking to buy a new home.”

Work on the 176 homes on Pontefract Road, Knottingley will begin later this year, with the first homes due to be completed next year.

Matthew Sheppard, Director, Turley in Leeds said: “This was a complex application for a scheme that will ultimately see 600 new homes on this site in Knottingley. These two permissions will go some way in helping Wakefield Council meet its housing requirements.”
