Free advice to help Humber businesses go up a gear

Free business advice on topics including raising finance, is being offered to Humber businesses in support of the Local Enterprise Partnership’s “Growing the Humber” programme.

Consult Yorkshire, a networking group for independent business advisors, will host “An Ideas Takeaway for Business Growth” at The Freedom Centre on 19 March. The event is aimed at local start-ups and growing businesses as well as community enterprise and voluntary organisations. It includes presentations on raising finance, management recruitment, business innovation and collaboration; all will help business owners unlock their potential to compete in the global marketplace.

Consult Yorkshire member and Hull-based businessman Ian Shepherd, who will chair the seminars, said: “There is plenty of business optimism in Hull and the wider region, especially with Hull’s successful bid to become UK City of Culture in 2017 turning the spotlight on our revitalised community.

“Consult Yorkshire members have a wealth of experience, providing strategic and practical advice to businesses around the world. We held an Ideas Factory event in Leeds last year which was well received, and the Hull members wanted to bring a similar session to this area to benefit local businesses and support their plans for growth.”

The free session called “An Ideas Takeaway for Business Growth”, hosted by Consult Yorkshire, takes place at The Freedom Centre on Preston Road Estate, 8-10.30am, on Wednesday 19 March.
