Private female GP doctor appointed to Spire Hospital Liverpool
Spire Hospital Liverpool has appointed Spanish doctor Mar Valenzuela as their new private female GP doctor.
Mar began her career studying medicine in Spain where she also completed her GP training.
While living in Spain, Dr Valenzuela worked in surgeries and A&E departments for four years which gave her vital experience in dealing with health emergencies of all kinds.
Mar moved to Liverpool with her family six years ago after being won over by the people, the culture and the health system. When she first arrived, she registered in the GMC and her GP training was fully co-validated.
Since being in Liverpool she has gained additional skills in areas such as family planning, child health surveillance, and minor surgery. She also has experience with dealing with chronic patients including diabetes and asthma, along with regular updates of CPR resuscitation.
At Spire, Mar’s role is a Private Female GP doctor, which involves consulting a variety of patients who prefer to be seen in a relaxing environment with no time limit to deal with the issues facing them.
Dr Valenzuela said: “When I moved here six years ago I was won over by the system and culture. So, I was delighted to be appointed at Spire and I am looking forward to getting started and helping people.”
Spire Hospital Liverpool employs over 232 people across clinical and non-clinical staff. The hospital is the leading private healthcare organisation in Liverpool and a leader in field of orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmic, cosmetic, ENT and physiotherapy.
