Halifax manufacturer expands to keep up with demand
Yorkshire manufacturer John Winter & Co Ltd has reported record growth and is expanding its premises with the potential to create more jobs.
John Winter, a market-leading foundry and dental supplies manufacturer based in Halifax, has doubled its exports since the start of the recession in 2008.
As a result, sales have increased by 25% to over £8m and it now supplies over 40 countries around the globe.
John Winter exports its products through an established network of agents and distribution channels across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. It now also manufactures in the USA to supply the Northern and Central American markets.
Whilst the automotive industry continues to be the driving force behind the business, it also works with agents in the engineering, construction, defence, aerospace and packaging industries, as well as having nationwide coverage in the supply of dental laboratory products.
The increase in sales has allowed the business to expand its offices with a building extension dedicated to the foundry sales team, and the potential to create further jobs. The new building will also serve as a training facility for new on-site courses for customers.
Dale Lister, managing director of John Winter, said: “We’re in a really fortunate position to be celebrating such a significant increase in sales since the recession.
“Our expanding product portfolio has helped satisfy our interests in different markets and keep us at the forefront of today’s foundry and dental industries.
“The investment in the new building will help drive sales further and future-proof the business, with the potential to create more jobs.”
