Trading Rooms expand at Cotton Exchange
Bruntwood is developing a further 12 suites at Liverpool’s Cotton Exchange following “remarkable” demand for its initial phase.
Three quarters of the original Trading Rooms development have now been let, prompting the family-owned firm to expand the scheme into adjacent space on the Bixteth Street building’s first floor.
The first phase of eight suites, which vary in size from 130 sq ft to 303 sq ft, was released at the turn of the year and attracted strong interest from young and start-up businesses, with four being placed under offer inside the first two weeks.
Cotton Exchange has undergone a multimillion pound refurbishment in recent years and it is also now a core point of presence on the Metronet (UK) high-speed internet network.
Colin Sinclair, director of property marketing at Bruntwood, said: “Interest in the Trading Rooms has been remarkable and has given us the impetus to more than double the scheme.
“We had always had it in our minds to expand it eventually but the level of demand has encouraged us to expedite those plans and make them bigger than we’d anticipated.
“Cotton Exchange has become a working hub for dozens of ambitious, entrepreneurial businesses and the key to that success is the flexible growth space on offer for businesses of all sizes.
“The second phase will continue to be tailored specifically to the needs of smaller enterprises and we are confident of further buoyant demand over the coming months.”
