UK oil and gas firms expect to create 39k jobs
UK oil and gas firms will create up to 39k jobs in the next two years, a major survey from the Bank of Scotland suggests.
Companies in the sector were optimistic about expansion over the next year, particualry in the international markets.
Of the 100 firms questioned as part of the research, nearly 40% suggested their would be skills shortages.
The Bank of Scotland said the report represented great news for the economy and noted that experience of challenging North Sea operations allowed firms to export their knowledge to overseas markets.
