BASME scheme celebrates 400 new jobs milestone
A three-year programme to help North East process industry SMEs to export is celebrating a double success after creating 400 new jobs and signing up its 300th member.
NEPIC’s Business Acceleration for SME programme (BASME) which started in April 2012, supported by RGF and process industry money, provides mentoring and support around sales and exporting, to process industry firms in the region.
The scheme boasts a roster of 140 key senior figures who act as industry mentors.
Felix O’Hare, BASME programme leader said: “Signing up our 300th member is a strong testament to the success of the programme and I am confident we will hit our target of 400.
“I believe the appetite for BASME is a direct result of the services we provide, such as the targeted mentoring. We have over 140 key senior figures from across the process sector ready to offer guidance to our members for free; they have access to the extensive NEPIC network, in addition to a strong programme of business building workshops.”
