Yorkshire tailors expand suit-making empire with new Leeds offering
Owen Scott, a tailoring business, has expanded its Yorkshire-based empire with the opening of a new shop in Leeds.
After successfully opening a new store in Huddersfield, owner Scott Hufton and business partner Andy Littlewood, have opened a new store in Leeds’ Central Arcade and are hoping to target the city’s business men with their unique offer of high quality bespoke tailoring.
Speaking about the new venture, Scott said: “Yorkshire is renowned for its excellence in tailoring and high quality fabrics.
“Our Huddersfield shop has been hugely successful, with year-on-year growth since we launched in 2010, and over the past 12 months we’ve seen an increasing number of men from Leeds using our services for their tailoring needs.
“This growing demand, plus the fact that Leeds is the UK’s second largest financial district outside of London, led to our decision to open a shop in the city.
“Our aim is to bring SavileRow quality to men in Leeds at a more affordable price – without any difference in the quality of fabric and finish.”
As well as a bespoke tailoring service, Owen Scott offers off-the-peg suits and a suit hire service, with a range of dinner suits, lounge suits, morning coats and neckwear available to lease for special occasions. It also offers a range of shoes, ties, accessories and shirts.
Garments are individually tailored by Scott and Andy using Huddesfield cloths from mills and merchants, including Dugdale Bros, Taylor and Lodge and Scabal.
