CENE Success for Gus Robinson Developments
Construction firm Gus Robinson Developments celebrated two award wins at the prestigious North East Construction Excellence Awards.
The Hartlepool-based company won in both their shortlisted categories taking away the Leadership and People Development Award and also SME of the Year. (51-200 employees)
Dan Robinson, Chairman of Gus Robinson Developments, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win these awards. To be shortlisted in such competitive categories was a brilliant triumph in itself and to then win both was such an honour and recognition for our fantastic team.”
The firm was particularly praised in the Leadership and People Development Award for its successful apprenticeship programme which works to develop the skills and prospects of young people from across the North East. The judges were also impressed by Gus Robinson’s Developments with all of its 80 staff providing access to training and qualifications, social activities and an on-site gym.
Dan, added: “We were especially delighted to win this award as it proves we are working to achieve one of our main missions at Gus Robinson Developments to be a force of good in our society.
“We know as a community-orientated business that we must continually give back to young people in the region through education and training and are overwhelmed that this award recognises we are doing just that.”
The company who also won SME of the Year in 2012 were given the honour once again as they were congratulated for their core values and overall project quality.
Dan, said: “Two awards in one night is such a massive achievement for our company, especially winning SME of the year once again. It is a brilliant reflection on the hard work and dedication of all our staff and I cannot wait to share this honour with them.
“The award also signifies the huge strides we as a company have made throughout the past few years, building awareness of our quality work and becoming a driving force in our industry.”
The award wins come after Gus Robinson Developments celebrated being a finalist in the Residential category of the Renaissance RICS Awards as well as achieving a Big Tick in the Business and the Community Awards. The construction firm is also in line to receive its tenth RoSPA award later this year celebrating its dedication to occupational health and safety.
