Leeds law firm collects £14 million for their clients in 2 settlements

Leeds law firm Ison Harrison has amassed over £14 million in two settlements.

Personal injury partner Iain Oliver has secured a financial settlement of £3.45 million for his client, plus additional future payments for nursing care which amount to approximately £3.25 million.

This was in a clinical negligence case where the Court determined in 2010 that Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust were liable for causing a baby to develop cerebral palsy and medical reports were analysed to establish the value of her claim.

Two weeks before the trial was due to take place, settlement was agreed and approved by Leeds High Court, ensuring her future is as secure and happy as possible given the circumstances.

Previously, after five years of skilful negotiation, personal injury lawyer Geraldine Kane, also from Ison Harrison, won damages for her client of £7.5 million.

Geraldine was instructed after 19 year old Chris Fox suffered extensive injuries as a result of an horrific car accident in Liverpool in May 2009. He suffered very severe brain injuries, life threatening complications and was unconscious for days.

Jonathan Wearing, managing partner, Ison Harrison commented: “Geraldine is a rare and very valuable member of our team. She wins her cases not boxing hard but by boxing clever. We are proud to have both these spectacular, diligent and successful lawyers in our team.”

Ison Harrison, ‘The Leeds Law Firm’, has over 150 staff in offices in Leeds City Centre, Chapeltown, Crossgates, Garforth, Guiseley, Ilkley, and Morley.

Kathy Fox, mother of the injured Chris, commented: “Geraldine and the team at Ison Harrison did a marvellous job for us and I can never thank them enough. We will definitely stay in touch. How could we not, Geraldine’s a member of the family now!”
