Birkenhead glass manufacturer seals new deal with Barclays

A glass manufacturer from Birkenhead celebrating 20 years in business this year has acquired a new property and new substantial machinery with funding from Barclays to support the continued growth of the business.

K-Seal Glass Ltd has a long established reputation of manufacturing a vast range of glass products for the commercial, residential and bespoke market sectors.

Set up by Keith Nethercott in 1994, the company went Limited in 1996 before going into partnership with ex-Pilkington director Stephen Woolley in 2000.

Since 2000, the company has diversified its portfolio into toughened and laminated glass and by investing in the right machinery has grown from an £800k turnover business to a £4 million turnover business and is now one of the largest glass suppliers in the North West.

K-Seal Glass Ltd has occupied their existing for 15 years and employs 48 people. Their latest acquisitions include new CNC machinery which will enable them to use laser and water jet technology to cut glass.

Barclays has also supported K-Seal with the purchase of The McKenna Building. The building’s architect was Sir Arnold Thornely who was a celebrated architect having designed one of the Liverpool waterfront Three Graces, The Port of Liverpool building, along with the historic Stormont building at the Northern Ireland Assembly for which he was knighted.
