Tour de PHP
To coincide with the start of this year’s Tour de France in Yorkshire on Saturday, 5 July, local business Health & Wellbeing intermediary PHP will be holding the ‘Tour de PHP’ in an attempt to raise £5,000 for charity with the company matching the amount raised.
PHP staff will cycle the equivalent of 960 miles on two exercise bikes, the distance of Lands End to John O’Groats, in 12 hour shifts over 4 days, to raise money for children’s hospice Martin House in Boston Spa. Everyone at PHP, from the youngest employee aged 19 to the oldest who is 69, is entering into the spirit and taking part in the week’s event’s.
‘Tour de PHP’ will run for four days starting on Monday, 7 July on Thursday, 10 July. The entire week will have a distinct French theme and will include a Great French Bake Off followed by Le Petit Dejeuner, a Boules competition, and culminating on Thursday with a Celebratory Soiree finish - all raising money for Martin House Hospice.
PHP’s Stuart Scullion said, “Over the past few years we’ve gained a reputation for doing wacky things for charity including Strictly PHP and The PHP Olympics in aid of well deserving charities. So here we are again as we couldn’t let the Tour de France starting in Yorkshire pass by without us doing our bit.”
Martin House Hospice cares for children and young people from the Yorkshire region with progressive life-limiting illnesses and provides support to their families.
