Tyneside technology firm expands with new software division

Technology business Synergi IT has launched a new specialist cloud-based software division targeting North East SMEs.

The division, lead by director and technology expert Justin Short, focuses on Microsoft SharePoint services. Sharepoint is a business tool which integrates intranet, content management and document management.

Justin said: “Many large North East companies have legacy versions of SharePoint that need bringing up to date while lots of small businesses are being introduced to the software via Microsoft’s Office 365.

“We are living through an exciting transition of emerging business technologies that help transform the way companies share information with their employees, customers and supply chain partners.”

Significant business wins since January 2014 means Gateshead-based Synergi is well on target to achieving sales of £500,000 in year one, with a targeted £2m within three years. Following this continued success, the firm is also hiring support staff.

While Synergi is a new force in the region, Peter Joynson and his team have more than 20 years industry and technical knowledge and are well known around the North East.

Peter Joynson, managing director of Synergi, said: “Justin will evangelise SharePoint and help North East businesses – large and small – perform better by automating business processes, encouraging more effective collaboration and communication. SharePoint is one of the key components within Office 365 and will help local companies modernise the way they work and perform better.”
