Yorkshire de-icing firm Heat Shot signs deal with Mercedes Benz

Hunslet-based Heat Shot Ltd, the company behind a new product for cleaning and de-icing car windscreens, has signed a “very significant and ground-breaking” deal with Mercedes-Benz.

Heat Shot has just signed an exclusive distribution deal which will see the company supply the whole of Mercedes-Benz’s Daimler bus fleet.

Kirk Allan, the managing director of Heat Shot, explained that this was the most significant contract that company had signed since its foundation two years ago.

He said: “For our first two years, we have invested heavily in research and development to ensure that our product is not just the market leader, but is also completely unique.

“Now we are reaping the benefits. This new deal means that our product will be fitted as an option into Mercedes-Benz buses at their manufacturing depot in Mannheim, Germany. It is a long-term partnership agreement and financial commitment with Daimler.

“This is a massive result for us and a tremendous endorsement of our Heat Shot™ Unit, which is an effective and affordable solution for quickly clearing and cleaning ice and snow, bugs, bird droppings, road oil and more from windscreens.

“We are confident that other global motor vehicle manufacturers will follow the lead of Mercedes-Benz, once the benefits of Heat Shot™ are clear to see.

Andy Greenway, area sales manager Mercedes-Benz bus sales, says: “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers this factory fitted option and I am sure that many of them will be choosing to have this added safety feature.”

Efficiently powered through the car’s battery, designed to limit windscreen wiper wear and easy to install, it is an all-season option to save drivers time, money and trouble.
