Hill Dickinson assists £23 million sale of majority of Bolton holiday company
North West law firm Hill Dickinson’s corporate team has completed the £23 million sale of a majority shareholding in the Bolton-based online luxury holiday operator, Destinology Ltd, to Saga plc.
Destinology employs over 100 staff across its head office in Bolton and high street store in Cheshire.
Acromas Holidays Ltd, part of Saga plc’s travel brand, has acquired the leading online travel company to provide its database of 10million people with bespoke holidays at Five Star hotels and resorts in major international destinations.
Dominic Speakman, founder of Destinology, will continue as President of the acquired company and a remaining shareholder.
He said: “Hill Dickinson’s team had the expertise and market knowledge to understand and coordinate this significant and intricate sale with a plc, ensuring my continued interest in Destinology and its further success. Matt and his team did a great job and were a pleasure to work with.”
Matt Noon, partner, Hill Dickinson, added: “Destinology is an example of a hugely successful business in the North West that has even more potential moving forward with a plc.
“The management team has created a very successful online platform and will form a formidable proposition alongside Saga Travel in view of its longstanding success in the overseas travel market.”
