Oak Furniture Land expansion creates 15 North East jobs
Oak Furniture Land has relaunched its Gateshead store, creating its biggest store in the country.
The superstore, which spans over 23,000 sq ft, is located at Unit 5, Metro Retail Park, Hollinside Road has retained its seven staff and joins one other store in the North East to create over 15 jobs in the region.
The company, which started trading as an internet only business 4 years ago, now has 53 stores nationwide.
The Gateshead store is the latest addition to the retail family and forms part of the retailer’s 2014 store expansion programme, which sees them averaging a new store opening each month.
Alan Tombs, Oak Furniture Land’s regional manager: “The relaunched Gateshead superstore is the biggest Oak Furniture Land store in the country, is a major investment, and plays a significant role in our on-going store opening programme across the UK, which will see us opening a store each month for the next three years. So far we have created over 350 jobs nationwide. We are delighted with this latest addition to our estate,”
