North East security firm launches consultancy service

A family-run company in Newcastle is unlocking plans to become the go-to hub for the region’s security queries after setting up a dedicated consultancy service and showroom.

NLS Security Ltd is offering a drop-in consultancy, enabling customers to ask specialists their pressing questions about security in their homes and workplaces, as well as a new showroom to display a range of safes from its main suppliers, including Chubbsafes, Securikey, Phoenix, Yale and many more. Customers can also browse a range of fully reconditioned second hand safes in the warehouse.

Brothers Stephen and David Wylde are directors in the company, which was founded in 1979 by their parents Eric and Pauline Wylde as a small key-cutting shop on Westgate Road.

NLS Security Ltd has since grown to employ 14 members of staff and moved to Newcastle’s West Road, where the premises include key cutting services, a large warehouse facility, free parking, a waiting area, branded vans and a 10 tonne truck which transports safes across the country.

Marketing assistant Paul Young said: “We have always had a solid reputation for being an approachable company at the heart of the local community, and we wanted to take that to the next level by upgrading the services we offer at our West Road premises - including a comfortable, private space where customers can come in and chat to us about their security concerns and interests.

“Our new showroom displays a wide range of our safes and security products, and our experts will be on hand to help customers get their head around cash ratings, fire resistance, locking mechanisms and so on. They’ll help to make sense of the technical jargon that can often be part and parcel of the safe buying process.”

NLS Security Ltd is accredited by the Master Locksmith Association and provides a 24 hour call out service alongside specialist services including the supply of new and reconditioned safes, safe installation, safe removal, safe opening, auto locksmith services, car key cutting and car key programming.
