Avecto shines with Silver Stevie
Manchester’s Avecto has won a Silver Stevie for its continued growth at the 11th Annual International Business Awards.
The privilege management firm was honoured in the ‘fastest-growing company of the year in Europe’ category, alongside two other firms from Turkey and Bulgaria.
The Stevie Awards are the world’s premier business awards. Originally an award for companies in the US, they were created in 2002 to honour and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organisations and working professionals worldwide.
Avecto has enjoyed rapid recent growth, with sales rising 4731% within the five years to 2013, leading to it being crowned the fastest growing software company in the UK (Deloitte Fast 50, 2013).
The company’s success is built upon its award-winning software Privilege Guard, which allows firms to apply the principle of least-privilege across Windows environments. The software is in use by seven out of ten of the world’s largest banks, 60 government agencies, seven aerospace leaders and three F1 teams.
This latest achievement adds to other recent successes, which included co-founders Paul Kenyon and Mark Austin jointly winning EY’s ‘Northern Tech Entrepreneur of the Year 2014’ award.
Paul Kenyon, EVP of global sales at Avecto said: “To receive global recognition for the company’s success is incredibly satisfying. Our strategy has been internationally focused from the start and we’re now reaping the rewards.
“We’ve managed our growth well, and our headcount currently stands at over 100 with employees in Europe, North America and Australasia. We’ve carved out and cornered a slice of the market and we’ll be looking to build on this as we further evolve our products and services.”
