Aaron & Partners act for Cheshire roofing firm on sale
Aaron & Partners has acted as legal advisor to the shareholders of Cheshire Roofing Supplies Ltd on its sale to international supplier of specialist building materials, SIG plc.
Founded in 2000 by school friends Angus McKerracher and Gary Stuart, Cheshire Roofing Supplies operates from two depots in Crewe and Warrington, providing a wide range of roofing products.
Stuart Scott-Goldstone, Head of the Corporate Team at Aaron & Partners, handled the transaction together with legal executive Amanda Wickstead.
Stuart said: “This is an excellent outcome for both parties and we’re very pleased to have been able to act for the shareholders of Cheshire Roofing Supplies on the company’s sale. Angus and Gary can be proud of growing and then achieving a sale of the business they founded after seeing the opportunity for a specialist roofing trade supplier in Cheshire.”
British-based SIG is an international company which currently employs more than 9,000 people. Founded in Sheffield in 1957, SIG is listed as a FTSE 250 company and principally operates across nine countries in Europe, offering businesses an integrated supply chain solution via its extensive network and delivery fleet.
Commenting on the deal, Angus McKerracher, one of the sellers, said: “Aaron & Partners provided a first-class level of service on every aspect of the deal and handled the sale in an extremely professional yet friendly manner. The service they provided was also excellent value for money and we’re very happy with the results.”
Leeds-based Pinsent Masons acted for SIG plc, while Mark Bramall from Chartered Accountants Dyke Yaxley in Shrewsbury also advised the sellers.
