SSE sells Hampshire data centre in £12 million deal
Scottish energy supplier SSE plc has agreed the sale of its Hampshire data centre to SCC for an estimated £12 million.
The sale of the facility, which was operated by SSE Enterprise Telecoms, is part of SSE’s broader value programme of planned disposals announced in its Notification of Close Period Statement on 26th March.
SCC, which is Europe’s largest independent IT group, has been involved in planning, supplying, integrating and managing IT on behalf of leading businesses across Europe for 40 years.
A small number of employees are expected to transfer to SCC as part of the disposal.
Gregor Alexander, Finance Director of SSE plc, said: “SSE plc is continuing its business simplification programme, which will secure proceeds and debt reduction estimated to total around £1 billion and ensure SSE plc’s resources are fully focused on its core purpose of providing the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way.”
