Manchester City’s Touré appointed as Nissan ambassador
Japanese car giant Nissan has appointed Manchester City playmaker Yaya ToureÌ as ambassador for its Uefa Champions League sponsorship.
Toure, who is originally from the Ivory Coast, joins PSG and Brazil defender Thiago Silva and Barcelona’s Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta as a participant in Nissan’s ‘ÂÂEngineers of Excitement’ÂÂ international advertising campaign.
Nissan replaced Ford as the automotive partner of the Uefa Champions League in April, signing a four-year deal with European soccer’ÂÂs governing body.
Nissan’s corporate vice president of marketing, communications and brand strategy, Roel de Vries, confirmed ToureÌ’ÂÂs signing on Wednesday at the Leaders Sport Business Summit in London.
Nissan has also forged ties with ToureÌ’s Manchester City this year, through a five-year global sponsorship arrangement with City Football Group (CFG)
