Birmingham business raises over £1,000 for local charity
The ReThink Recruitment Birmingham office has raised £1,218 in on and offline donations for local Leukaemia support charityBPositive in a cycling event last month.
Between 15th and 19th September the team at the specialist recruitment firm cycled 1,214 miles in 50 hours in support of the charity’s founder and leukaemia survivor Jonjo Rooney who recently cycled to Hamelin, Germany, to meet his bone marrow donor.
Joining the team during the week was former middle distance runner and Commonwealth champion, Diane Modahl, who not only gave the team some motivational support, but also took to the bike herself.
Richard Knights, Regional Manager of the Birmingham office commented:
“We’re all pleased to have been able to raise such a significant amount so far for so such a good cause. BPositive is a charity that is close to the heart of the team. Many of us have lived through the devastating effect the disease can have and witnessed just how low people can get as a result. The support offered by BPositive is invaluable in helping sufferers understand their situation, what they are going through, and to give them hope.”
