Double celebration for two Tyneside retail businesses

Two Tyneside-based retail businesses are joining forces to celebrate a successful partnership and to mark their tenth anniversaries.

Whitley Bay-based independent retailer, Escape Boutique, is hosting an exclusive, in-store event showcasing accessory company Tutti & Co.’s new Spring/Summer 2015 collection for the first time.

Having successfully collaborated with the North Shields-based accessory designer for over four years, owner of Escape Boutique, Lisa Mitchell and Kate Rose of Tutti & Co., deemed it fitting to have a joint event to mark the special milestone.

Mrs Mitchell said: “We first started working with Tutti & Co. in early 2010. Its jewellery and accessories really are beautiful and our customers always respond well to the various collections. The new range for next season definitely won’t disappoint.

“We think it’s extremely important to build lasting relationships with local designers and manufacturers and we try to partner with local firms as much as possible. Our customers are great advocates of shopping local, which is an extremely positive development for the retail industry in the North East and a sign of the excellent talent we have here.

“Turning 10 is a huge milestone for Escape Boutique. We have certainly had our ups and downs over the years but thankfully the recession has not stopped us expanding. My husband runs our sister store Mitchells Menswear, which opened last year and we have also recently launched our new ecommerce website to grow our business digitally.”

She continued: “Everyone who purchases from our store on the evening of the event will receive a free Tutti & Co. bracelet. There are also three deluxe hampers donated by Tutti & Co including jewellery, embellished scarves and pashminas up for grabs in our raffle. And no party would be complete without a champagne reception.”

Kate Rose, founder of Tutti & Co., said: “The support that Lisa and the rest of the Escape team has shown over the years has been fantastic. I am so excited to show off the new collection for the warmer months next year, it features an array of colours, great mix of materials and textures, and is tipped to be the best collection yet.”

Mrs Mitchell added: “Our success is down to our ability to evolve by listening to our extremely loyal customers, stocking products they love and keeping our store exciting.”

Escape Boutique and Mitchells Menswear are both based on Park View in Whitley Bay. Both stock a range of local designers as well as well-known British brands including Fly London, Merc Clothing, Charli London, Orla Kiely and Dr Martens. People can order online at: www.escapeboutique.co.uk

The event will take place at the Escape Boutique store on Friday 28 November 2014 from 5pm.
