Cramlington sports new community football team thanks to North East Training Solutions
Cramlington-based apprenticeship training provider North East Training Solutions has teamed up Digital Community Youth Ltd to create a new football squad.
LEV3L FC will take to the pitch next season after securing £1,000 in sponsorship from local businessman Michael Thompson, managing director at North East Training Solutions, who agreed to sponsor the kit and development of the squad, which is based at Manor Walks Shopping Centre.
Michael Harland, director at Digital Community Youth Ltd, said: “We are extremely grateful to North East Training Solutions who have shown fantastic community spirit through their support of the project.
“Their sponsorship has enabled us to begin the development of a community squad for next season. We have a great mix of age ranges from 18 to 35, which creates a mentorship mentality with younger players looking to the older ones for knowledge, tactics, and experience in the football world and beyond.
“North East Training Solutions not only purchased a full set of kit for the team, they’ve also financed many other aspects of putting a community football squad together and helped us to strengthen our partnership in the community.”
Michael Thompson, North East Training Solutions MD, said: “As a local company and keen football fans ourselves, we take great pleasure in giving back to the local community as much as possible.
“Digital Community Youth Ltd is a community-based social enterprise that has been developing and delivering projects to benefit everyone in the area for over 5 years. LEV3L FC is their latest project so it was important for us to assist the team as a main sponsor.”
