£2.5 million Hull logistics collaboration to create 21 jobs

Fourteen local businesses have helped develop a £2.5 million warehouse facility in east Hull, which will create 21 new jobs over three years.

Neill & Brown Global Logistics’ 40,000 sq ft warehouse at Marfleet Environmental Technology Park on Hedon Road, was supported by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growing the Humber fund, this latest facility at Marfleet Environmental Technology Park.

Peter Brown, CEO of Hessle-based Neill & Brown, said: “We have created a high quality logistics facility for our international customer base using as many local suppliers as possible.

“We are proud to be based in Hull and there is plenty of expertise in the supply chain to enable us to adhere to ‘buy local’.”

The companies involved are: Allan Wood & Partners, Arco, Houlton, Beech Electrical, Elite Pest Control, Intrasource, John Moore Security, KC, Kingstonian Storage Equipment, Merlin Office Equipment, MH Industrial, Morgan Lloyd Jones Partnership, Sovereign Signs, Spitfire Services and Stoneferry Estates.

The new development follows a previous investment at Marfleet Environmental Technology Park in 2011, when Neill & Brown joined forces with Japanese-owned chemical company Nippon Gohsei to create a 60,000 sq. ft. laboratory, manufacturing, storage and distribution centre for the innovative packaging product Soarnol.

Neill & Brown is an official business partner of World Trade Centre Hull & Humber. The company also signed up as the first business angel in support of Hull as City of Culture 2017.

It employs 117 staff and offers numerous secure, daily, timed collections and deliveries, tailored for a wide range of products, from food ingredients, packaging, machine equipment and general cargoes, to chemicals, hazardous and specialist loads.
