North East company wins quality mark
A NORTH EAST community interest company is celebrating, after achieving an internationally recognised quality award.
Stockton-based Community Energy Solutions has been awarded ISO 9001 Quality Management, the world’s most widely recognised quality management standard.
The company, which operates the GoWarm scheme which has improved the lives of hundreds of people by giving them warmer homes and lowering their fuel bills across the borough, achieved the award after undergoing a rigorous scrutiny procedure.
The ISO 9001 quality management systems allows the company to continually monitor it management across the company, ensuring that it is working to maximum efficiency along with paving the way to other business opportunities.
“Achieving this award is official recognition of the level of service we deliver and our commitment to running an efficient, well organised and motivated organisation,” said Karen Hindhaugh, Operations Director at CES.
“Our ability to comply with these high standards showcases that both our internal structure and the service level we give our customers is consistent.”
The GoWarm scheme was held up nationwide as an example of good practice with its work which not only improved the lives of many householders but also delivered 280,000 tonnes of carbon savings, created 500 jobs and attracted around £12m of private investment.
CES has worked in Stockton since 2007, initially working to deliver cavity and wall insurance and new boilers. In 2012 under CESP this was developed to include external wall insulation and heating systems to more than 1800 households across the borough.
The current phase of the scheme will see 866 houses across the town have a number of energy efficiency measure installed and is due for completion in 2015.
GoWarm is working in partnership with Stockton Borough Council and leading integrated power and gas company, E.ON, to deliver the £5.4m scheme. .
